Welcome to the Sharon Elementary School website. We are very proud of our school, which has more than 800 students and more than 100 teachers and staff -- all coming together to comprise our wonderful SES community.
The faculty and staff here at SES are committed to providing a unique learning environment that will challenge as well as support your child's educational experience. As you all know Sharon is one of the most supportive, loving, and academically focused elementary schools in the nation. It is our sincere belief that you and your child will have a great educational experience.
Our mantra this year is
"Success is not a destination but a constant journey".
The next level can only be accomplished by having a progressive community, supportive families, teachers, and administration working together. Involvement by everyone is the "secret ingredient" to educational success for your child and here at Sharon we are committed to your child's success.

A group of parents, teachers, administrators, and local business and civic leaders led the effort to put together Sharon Elementary School's Mission Statement, Vision, and School Motto.
This committee solicited input from all of our staff, parents, and students as they developed our school's Mission Statement, Vision, and School Motto.
The

Sharon Elementary School's mission is to involve our school, parents, and community in providing a learning environment that drives the whole child to meet academic challenges and individual goals in preparation for success throughout life's journey.

The students, staff, and parents of Sharon Elementary School have collaboratively set down these Belief Statements as the core values that unite us.
1. All children posses the ability to be successful in the academic setting.
2. All children come to school with a wide range of strengths and weaknesses in how they learn.
3. The curriculum and instruction in our school is driven by the educational needs of all of our students.
4. The resources of our school are directed toward ensuring that all students are successful at school.
5. Our teachers engage and motivate students to exceed state and national standards of learning, personal learning goals, and to develop essential lifelong skills and characteristics of responsible citizens.
6. Teaching and learning at Sharon Elementary School is based on proven, sound, best instructional practices and is subject to ongoing peer review and analysis.

Why Participate? It is our hope that Invention Night will provide opportunities for enhancing self-esteem, developing higher order thinking skills, experiencing the scientific method, integration of curriculum, motivating students, and encouraging creative thinking and parent involvement. AND HAVING FUN! Requirements: The following should be brought to Invention Night: 1) A Model and/or Posterboard Display of your very own Invention OR Model and/or Poster about a famous Inventor and his/her Invention 2) Invention Description Form (found in this packet) |
